Welcome to the Snippix guide

Our tool is designed to ease your workflow by simplifying text extraction from on-screen images or scanned documents.

Start by creating a transparent green selection frame on your screen, which will take on a subtle reddish hue after starting the tool.

Once selected, Snippix automatically incorporates the screenshot, swiftly extracts the text, and displays it next to the image, ready for you to copy.

In the subsequent sections, we'll explain the different features of Snippix to help you understand how to make the most of its capabilities.

1. Language Selection

  • Our tool typically identifies the language of your text automatically
  • Additionally, a selection box allows you to manually choose the language, offering more control when necessary

2. Image Rotation

  • The Snippix tool comes with an auto-rotation feature, effortlessly correcting rotated or skewed images.
  • You can adjust image rotation manually if needed, or fine-tune it using the "Enable Rotation Optimization" option.

3. Optimize Detection

  • This additional feature seeks to improve text recognition further
  • If the initial results are not satisfactory, activating this feature can provide enhanced results, though it may take a few extra seconds

4. Report Bad Detection

  • This feature allows you to report sub-optimal text recognition to the developer, contributing to the continuous improvement of Snippix in future versions

5. Optimize Detection

  • If the initial results are not satisfactory, activating this feature can provide enhanced results, though it may take a few extra seconds

6. Copy Text and Close

  • Upon activation, the tool copies the entire recognized text to your clipboard and then closes the application
  • Alternatively you can manually copy the text from the text field (9) without closing the application as per your needs

7. Trim Selection

  • This feature removes unnecessary spaces and paragraphs, creating unformatted text
  • If only a part of the text is selected, the trimming operation applies to that specific portion only

8. Image Display Area

  • The selected image region is displayed here, with color indicators highlighting text recognition confidence levels (green for high, red for low)
  • Hovering over specific words in the image highlights the corresponding text in the output area, simplifying visual text alignment

9. Output Area

  • This is where the tool generates the output text, ready to be copied manually
  • By using the "Trim Selection" feature (6), line breaks can be removed for either the entire text or selected portions
